Advantages of Invisalign
Fixing misaligned teeth with Invisalign is easy, predictable, and effective. In most cases, you'll wear clear aligners that must be adjusted every few weeks. In most cases, you'll only need to visit the dentist once every four to six weeks. Clear aligners are very convenient for people with busy schedules because they only require office visits every 4 to 6 weeks.
The digital model of your teeth is sent electronically to the Invisalign laboratory for treatment planning and processing using cutting-edge CAD/CAM digital scanning technology. Our scanning process is straightforward, comfortable, and produces exceptionally accurate models, so retakes are unlikely compared to other methods. We do not require a physical, uncomfortable impression.
Invisalign Versus Braces
Invisalign is the best option for straightening your teeth because it is nearly invisible and comfortable. We use clear aligners in most cases, but some conditions cannot be treated with Invisalign. For example, we don't recommend Invisalign treatment for patients who have a significant misalignment between their upper and lower jaws. An examination is required to determine if you are a good candidate for treatment. Furthermore, Invisalign might not be appropriate for patients with specific prior dental work, like implants or bridges.
Is Invisalign painful
The Invisalign trays are not painful. However, patients may experience some discomfort. Even though Invisalign trays aren't as uncomfortable as brackets and wires, the pressure exerted on teeth to move them will cause some discomfort during orthodontic treatment. It will be uncomfortable during the first few days, but it will likely subside after that. As the aligners are changed every two weeks, temporary discomfort will likely occur.
Our Process for Invisalign
Invisalign clear aligners may be a good choice if you are concerned about the appearance of your teeth. Dr. Shahrokh will examine your teeth, discuss your goals with invisible braces therapy, and determine if they are the right solution. For patients who cannot benefit from clear aligners, we will refer you to an orthodontist with experience in traditional orthodontic treatment.
For the fabrication of clear aligners, we will use our 3-D CAD/CAM scanner to scan your teeth. We will also create a progress animation so you can see how things progress. Invisalign trays will be customized to fit your teeth and gums in a trusted laboratory to provide maximum comfort during treatment.
Clear aligners from Invisalign should be worn for a minimum of 22 hours daily. They can be taken out for cleaning, eating, and brushing; otherwise, you should wear them. Your smile can only improve if you wear them for the appropriate amount of time. To be sure, Dr. Shahrokh will check on your progress at periodic appointments throughout the treatment. Each set of aligners must be worn for two weeks and then switched to the next.
It usually takes 6 to 12 months for the entire treatment to complete. Once the treatment is complete, you will wear the final tray as a retainer to maintain your results.
Maintaining Results after Invisalign
You should continue wearing your retainer to keep your beautiful smile. Your teeth may shift back over time, so it is vital to wear a retainer to prevent them from shifting back. Keep your retainer clean by brushing it with a toothbrush to maintain a beautiful smile. Maintaining good oral hygiene and regular dental checkups even after treatment is important to maintaining a beautiful smile.
